In front of a sold out crowd at the Aspen Institute, Former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg maintained that 95 percent of all murders in the US involve a minority male between the ages of 15 and 25. Therefore young minority males should not be allowed to own a firearm.
...What?!?!
His reasoning? "These kids think they are going to get killed anyway because all of their friends are getting killed." I am sorry, but allow me to sound like the proverbial white guy here and say, that I know a lot of minorities. Most of them through my photography podcast and blog. They stretch across the globe in a variety of cities and countries. None of them have ever told me that all of their friends are getting killed.
Additionally, not only did he advocate taking away the second amendment rights of young black males, I seriously question this statistic and challenge him to prove that 95 percent of all murders are committed by black men age 15-25. I can find nothing even remotely similar to that in any FBI crime statistic available online.
Nearly 14,900 people were killed through murder or non-negligent homicide last year. They lump them all together for statistics. But according to former Mayor Michael Bloomberg, over 14,000 of them were committed by a black male ages 15-25. Does anyone seriously believe that? He needs to be challenged for this claim.
You don't have to be a young black male to read this lunacy and be ragingly PO'd. In fact, I don't think he is being racist at all. I think he is just stupid. He really does want to help people. He is just too stupid to figure out how to do it right. And guess what, America. We elected this jerk into office.
